United Biscuit Fills Malls With Promos And New Pack For Cookies
UB ( United biscuit ) India has come up with promos for its cookies to improve its sales . feeling the heat of competition from local major brands such as Britannia , Parle and ITC . Cookies butter packs are offered with 20 % more in weight with same price and the second promo is giving Rs 10/- of digestive biscuit pack free on buying Rs 20/- cookies butter pack .
It has to follow this route to increase its sales as all major biscuit brands are offering 20 - 25% more in wts at same price offer for long .
United Biscuits is trying to attract consumers through new packs as it has offered digestives in ATC( Air tight carton )packs and now cookies in family pack of 166g instead of single pillow packs . The ATC packs has been tried over by major brands but with little success , I think reason being the cost of ATC packs and technical issues of getting better cardboard and equipments to pack biscuits . It would interesting to know whether its impacts consumer buying preference .
